So far I have tallied up $34 dollars in prizes for my contribution in Quests through 500px photo website. I was surprised to receive anything at all. I have to admit it is pretty fun to be participating seeing that I don't regularly join in to win. It is truly very interesting to get the feedback on the popularity of my photos. I will be participating more frequently in the new 2025 year, it gives me something to do and to wrack up some prize money is always a bonus in my books. Here are my submissions in the photo quests and the money won.

It's something new to do and it doesn't hurt to submit and like I said it is flattering to get the pulse on each of the photos. The next round of Quests are : Your Best Photo; Purple Theory; Species of Birds and Wildlife in Winter. I am also entering three photos in the Questmas : 12 Days. 12 Challenges. 12 Prizes to be Won. Some competitions I participated in are Canadian Wildlife Federation : Reflections of Nature Photo Contest, I submitted three photos. Flickrs : Your Best Shot 2024, entered my popular Green Frog photo, which is now approaching to be my number one most popular photo that I have ever taken. Sadly to say I missed out on Canadian Geographic : 2024 Canadian Wildlife of the Year, a competition I usually do well with. Well there is always 2025 to look forward to seeing that 2024 was mostly a Northern Green Frog year, I couldn't believe that was my milestone for the year. Next week I will share with you the outcomes of my Quests already the bird photos are reaching a very high pulse so I am imaging they will take some prize money and it has only been one day after submissions.

Ghost Tiger Beetle

 Adoption on NatureServe.org Ghost Tiger Beetle ( Ellipsoptera lepida ) Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Conservation Status: imperiled (N2N3) in Canada (NatureServe) I recently discovered that I can adopt a species on the NatureServe Explorer website and I was able to choose my most prized and favourite little species the  Ghost Tiger Beetle . On the site you can choose almost anything under the  Adopt a Species  initiative and even request a special adoption which is what I did and chose to honour my father with a gift a species. The initiative is probably not on your radar and I wanted to let you know what a wonderful option it is as a gift idea. Just imagine that your favourite species out there can be help and supported through this action. The staff of NatureServe were so helpful and committed during the adoption process and they also featured one of my photographs, the one featured above.  Popular Photography It is always a great pleasure to win competitions or get your photo published be it in a magazine, website, social media campaign or just featured along with your name. I find it mind blowing   when they go  viral  and move like a shooting star through the internet. I like to enter photo competitions that is why I don't post-process editing and retouching on any of my photos. Most competitions ask that you don't enter manipulated photos, you need to let the camera do its job.
