For the Love of Hares

Image
Snowshoe Hare Featuring a Snowshoe Hare ( Lepus americanus ) grazing the springtime grass at Shirleys Bay, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. This is my most popular video that I created on YouTube with 337 views and eight likes. It is very hard to keep the subject in focus, but over time I will get better and it is keeping the camera steady. I think I shot this using my Nikon Coolpix A900 but it could be very well my Canon EOS M100 seeing that I more commonly use the Canon. I do hope I shot this in 4K but I am not a seasoned videographer so I am still goofing around when it comes to video.  Now you can tell that this is probably the Nikon due to the quality of the video. The top video is much more clearer and there is a format difference that is very visible. I shot this video on the Jack Pine Trail and you can see it was later in the springtime due to the hare's colouration.  To see all my videos please check out :  My videos : https://www.youtube.com/@gmspanek/videos

The Most Friendly Red-Breasted Nuthatch Resting on a Cedar Tree a Red-breasted Nuthatch ( Sitta canadensis ) is found at the Jack Pine Trail, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. This photo was the very first published in Canadian Geographic and made the short list for Canadian Wildlife Photo of the Year 2019 . This beautiful little wonder of the woods will always come for a visit while you are in the forests of North America . These guys will search you out & land on you looking for a treat. Them and the Chickadees are the most friendly little creatures found in our Canadian forests . They are always a blessing to see & hear while in the woods. They walk down the trees upside down and are marvellous to see in the wild. You know the woods are healthy when you see these little guys doing their thing. Happy Hump Day

& it will be a Great One ! There is nothing like a bunch of Chipmunks to brighten up the day & get you out of the dumps from the days' before. Went with the gf to the Jack Pine Trail , our first official walk in the woods together. Saw so many of the little doodles scampering around & doing their thing looking ever so adorable & cute. It was so great to see butterflies out & about as well seeing two Mourning Cloaks & a Comma as well. It was absolute heaven to be back in the wildlife & so very good for the mental health that I have been inflicted with of recent times. The birds also did their job of bringing laughter & smiles to our faces as they danced around us. I cannot emphasise enough the benefits of being in nature to cleans the soul & get everything back on track returning the chakras back to normal.
